Buckingham Companies, developer of the considerable City Way project, engaged Rowland Design to institute both the interior and exterior graphic signage for the multi-use property.  Fixed use wayfinding was developed for the encompassing retail, residential, parking and hospitality areas.  Historical references of the location were thoughtfully integrated into the signage throughout the project.  The extensive signage and wayfinding package was successfully implemented through an enterprising collaboration with five sign fabricators and two architectural studios.

The terminal renovation at the Columbus Municipal Airport replaced an outdated 1980’s décor with a modern updated design suitable to today’s demands. Light fixtures reminiscent of aircraft wings make an impactful statement as visitors enter the space toward open views of runway activity.  Paying tribute to the city it serves, custom wall coverings were conceived to highlight the world-renowned collection of architecture Columbus is known for.

Multiple spaces were configured to better distinguish them from others.  New carpet, lighting and furnishings were implemented to heighten the passenger experience.  The airport refresh also included the design of a conference room, conference and event spaces, new restrooms as well as a modernized pilot’s lounge.

Rowland Design created a comprehensive package of wayfinding and signage for downtown Indianapolis’ JW Marriott. The expansive building required unique solutions for exterior vehicular and parking garage signage as well as exterior identifiers and interior signage. Exterior signage was required to clarify and visually support multiple hotel flags, but not distract from the hotel’s dramatic architecture.

The JW Marriott’s blue and silver exterior served as inspiration for the outdoor experiential graphics. Simple but sophisticated interior way finding enhances the design of the property while improving guest movement through the tower in and adjoining buildings.
